Probably the most international section of Seoul, the Itaewon district is a bustle of sidewalk vendors and visitors from all over the world. The Hamilton Hotel, a few blocks from here, caters to international visitors, and the nearby Yongsan military base makes this a popular destination. Korea's only mosque is also located here, attracting visitors and residents from the Mid East and north Africa.
What the Book moved recently from its
basement location on a side street, to this more spacious facility on the second floor almost next to the Burger King.
Although the store has a good selection of new books and periodicals, most of the store is taken up with 18,00 used books. One can purchase them, then return them, or other books, for credit. Of course new books can be ordered here, or through their extensive on-line store. This is always a great place to visit and the staff speak English well and are very helpful. Open everyday except Christmas.
