Long Description:
The Historic Ironwood Theater was built as a vaudeville and silent movie theater in 1928. It soon became the entertainment center of the area and flourished through the 20's, 30's and the Great Depression.
In the 1960's it was sold and became a first run movie theater operating until its closing in 1982.
In 1982 the theater was given the Ironwood Development Authority and renovation and remodeling began. They are still in the process of renovation. In 1988 the theater reopened as a cultural center.
The building itself is full of history with a vintage organ, ceiling murals and more.
Today it is still a center for entertainment.
