Burry Port (Porth Tywyn) Lighthouse.
Is approx 30Ft High & 15Ft diameter, cylindrical brick tower with lantern and gallery. The tower is painted white with black trim, the lantern dome is red. The light was restored in 1996 by Llanelli Borough council with the support of the Burry Port Yacht Club, and Trinity House donated a new light. The restored lighthouse is now operated by Carmarthenshire County Council.

The Lighthouse is Located on the breakwater at the Burry Port harbour entrance, on the Loughor Estuary.

Burry Port harbour was built between 1830 and 1836 to replace the harbour at Pembrey, located 400 yards to the west. which is now silted over. Burry Port was once the main coal exporting port for the nearby valleys, but the dock now houses the only marina in Carmarthenshire, and the harbour was dredged especially for this purpose.
