Built in 1959, station number 1 in Monterey California houses 2 full sized fire trucks and one specialized rescue vehicle in a complex just South of the historic buildings that house the city offices on Pacific Street.

This is the first station to respond to calls from the downtown area and second responder to calls from the other stations in the city. The rescue vehicle responds to all areas of the city. The main fire department offices are nearby as well.
