To select which poets who would be represented in the Park, the project leaders consulted several institutions which are empowered to investigate a selection of 60 authors. Of the names on the final list, 50 are Portuguese. 10 are authors of countries or territories of Portuguese expression.
Teixeira de Pascoaes, Florbela Espanca, José Gomes Ferreira, Miguel Torga, Sophia de Mello Breyner, Natalia Correia, Eugenio de Andrade, Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá Carneiro, Alexandre O'Neill and Antonio Ramos Rosa are poets whose statue can already been seen at the Park.
