In the Scituate village of North Scituate (also called Gannett's Corner), there is a little park with a field stone and wood building that has a small plaque stating:

"Built by Works Progress Administration 1937-1938."

The building has a shingled peaked roof that extents well over the front entrance of the building and is supported by four square field stone pillars. There are windows/doors on sides of the building, including a round window. The windows have vertical bars over them. There is a chimney that rises from the back-center of the building.

The Scituate Community Preservation Committee web site has a page about this building. It was originally built for tennis courts in North Scituate. It has served as the meeeting place for the PTA, woodworking classes, the Scituate Arts Association, and other organizations. It has been vacant for the last 25 years, however, and has been in need of major repairs. The page states that $210,000 has been approved to fund renovations, and the building will be listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There is no date on the site, but it mentions the opening of the Greenbush Commuter Rail line which happened in the last couple years.
