nitially founded as a convent Church for the Convent of Our Lady of Conception and Martyrs in Sacavem in 1596.
In 1863 the Patriarch Cardinal of Lisbon made the Convent church, Church of Sacavem.
The church had seriuos conservation works in 1885.
The tower is toped with a dome-shaped hexagonal pyramid, surrounded by smaller pinnacles and holds up t 4 bells.
