An obelisk to honor Civil War veterans from Brimfield is located on the Town Common.

1866, one year after the Civil War ended, the Town of Brimfield erected an obelisk to honor the citizens of Brimfield who served in the war. A 25' high monument and four cannons are surrounded by a fence, each section of which is attached by a Civil War cannon, on the Town Common. One face of the obelisk contains the dedication. The other three faces contain a list of names. On all four sides of the shaft of the obelisk is a shield with the date 1866. The inscriptions are:
