A Cascata de Pitões das Júnias é uma cascata portuguesa localizada quase no fim da aldeia e freguesia de Pitões das Júnias, concelho de Montalegre, Distrito de Vila Real.
As águas desta cascata são provenientes das águas do ribeiro de Pitões que devido aos desníveis do terreno se desenvolve por vários patamares, sendo que o primeiro tem cerca de 30 metros de altura e desagua num lago delimitado por afloramentos graníticos. Esta cascata é uma das muitas cascatas da região do Barroso e vai animar vários rios que nascem na Serra do Gerês.
Nas proximidades desta cascata existe um carvalho centenário, que ao longo dos séculos tem sido alvo de várias lendas locais como a de um duende aí viver, e também uma ponte de madeira.
Acesso:
Das coordenadas do estacionamento só tem que seguir a indicação "Cascata". São cerca de 900 metros de distância. Basta seguir a estrada, depois há um passadiço de madeira que leva a um miradouro, que é o melhor local para admirar a queda de água.
O topo e a base da queda de água são um pouco difíceis de atingir por não existir um trilho definido.

The Pitons Waterfall is a cascade located near the end of the village and parish of the Pitons Junia, Montalegre county, district of Vila Real.
The waters come from the cascade of water from the brook Pitões that due to uneven terrain is developed by various levels, and the first is about 30 meters high and flows into a lake bordered by granite outcrops. This cascade is one of the many waterfalls in the region of Barroso and will animate several rivers rising in the Serra do Geres.
Nearby there is a cascade of centenary oak, which for centuries has been the target of several local legends like a leprechaun live there, and also a wooden bridge.
Access:
From the parking coordinates you just have to fall the "Cascata" indication. It's about 900 meters away. Just follow the road, the there's a wooden boardwalk that leads to a belvedere, witch is the best place to see the waterfall.
The top and the bottom of the waterfall are somehow hard to reach due to the lack of a trail.
*Please note that the photos were taken from a belvedere in front of the waterfall. It's the best place to see it, there's no trail to get to the top or bottom of it and it's very hard to get there.
There wasn't enough rain yet this year to see the waterfall on its best.
