Twin Falls is not a natural waterfall. It is a product of the 1925 damming of the Caney Fork River and construction of the power house. The dam backed up the Caney Fork and Collins River. The Collins River flows into the Caney Fork about a mile upstream of Twin Falls, but at this point the two rivers are only 1000 feet apart. Water is diverted from the Collins to feed the power house along man made channels. Twin Falls is the result of water from the Collins River finding its way though caves in the land between the rivers. The water pours out of the Caney Fork River Gorge walls about 80 feet above the river, and about 40 feet below the top of the gorge.

Coords were taken at the best place to view the falls across the river at the bottom of the stairs to the trail.
