Mosteiro beneditino feminino fundado em 1510, de que resta a torre manuelina, alguns capitéis do clastro e um portal, deslocado. Do final do século XVI datam ainda o revestimento a azulejos enxaquetados ma igreja e no coro alto e os cadeirais do coro principal.
A igreja foi reconstruida entre 1707 e 1737 em estilo barroco, cuja marca ficou, entre outros, na talha dos retábulos e do púpito, no cadeiral acharoado do coro alto e na decoração, altares e sepulturas da sala do capítulo, hoje sacristia.
Nacionalizado, foi por esta Comgregação transformado em lar de idosos desde 1905. Nessa altura a torre foi deslocada destruindo o mirante e construido um equilibrado edifício de traça ecléctica dominada por um gracioso neoclassico.

Female Benedictine monastery founded in 1510, of which remains the tower Manueline, some capitals of the cloister and portal of place. From the late sixteenth century dates back to the finish of the tiles and the church choir and leading the choir seats.
The church was rebuilt between 1707 and 1737 in Baroque style, whose mark was, among others, in the carved altarpieces and pulpit in the choir stalls and decorations, altars and graves of the chapter room, now the vestry.
Nationalized, was transformed by this Congregation on retirement home since 1905. At that time the tower was moved destroying the gazebo and built a balanced eclectic building plots dominated by a graceful neoclassical.
