Volksstimme is a regional newspaper covering the south of the canton Basel-Land; this is mainly Sissach county and some municipalities in the counties of Liestal and Waldenburg. The headquarter is located at the main street in the center of Sissach.

The newspaper was founded in 1882 by Jakob Schaub-Buser, who was the head of the editorial staff until 1949. His son and later the grandson kept this position in the family until 1993. Until 2008 the newspaper was printed in-house, then this has been contracted out.

It has three subscription editions a week (two before 1972) with a circulation of 7'700.
