The marker is located on the lawn of the Owsley County Courthouse in Booneville, KY.

Marker Text:
Near this spot, Daniel Boone and party camped in 1780-1781. Camp called Boone’s Station until Owsley County was organized in 1843, then named Booneville. Records show that Boone’s family owned land here until it moved to Missouri.
