Electric Haven Tattoo & Barber Shop is a classic, traditional shop. Our style is based on all the tradtional ethics and hard work of the fore fathers of the tattooing and barbering industry. We do NOT do piercings or apprenticeships. We’re a good, clean, custom tattoo shop that is highly expeirenced. We offer quality haircuts that are always followed up by a straight razor clean up or hot towel shave.
Samuel O’Reilly invented and patented the first electric tattoo machine in 1891 and he operated his business out of the back of a barber shop in New York City. This was the first tattoo parlor in the United States.
Tattoo parlors operated out of the backs of barber shops for several more years. Adam Dorsett created Electric Haven tattoo & barber shop after a 3 1/2 year apprenticeship and 10 years under his belt.Based on this history. Adam was handed down his great uncle Alton Eslinger,s tattoo equipment from the 30's and his aunts barber tools and is upholding the family line in the tattooing and barbering industry. The shop is the new home of High Life Pomade, a world class hair dressing made by Adam personally. It is a classic working mans pomade, not one of those fancy, expensive, water based products. So whether it’s a tattoo by great artists or a clean cut and shave with a free beer by our highly expienced barbers, come in and check us out or give us a call.
