Anlässlich eines Konzertes bei der Fußball-EM 2008 versprachen Vertreter des TVB und der Gemeinde Gerry Friedle alias DJ Ötzi einen eigenen Brunnen. Gebaut wurde das Kunstwerk im Auftrag des TVB Ötztal und der Gemeinde Oetz von Schülern der HTL Imst unter der fachkundigen Aufsicht von FOL Bernhard Moser, der diesen Brunnen auch geplant hatte. "Die Skulptur stellt DJ Ötzi mit seiner Frau und seinem Kind dar".
