A little town, situated in the north-east part of Plzen Region (Rokycany District.)In 2010, Rokycany celebrated the 900th anniversary of the first written record of the town.
At present, the town has a population of over 14 thousand inhabitants. The town is very well kept and attracts not only locals but also tourists, since its town centre is a protected memorial, and it offers places for sports and a popular town swimming pool. In the town centre you can find the Museum of Dr. B. Horák with its exposition of regional history and paleontology. In the surrounding area, there is a military museum on the demarcation line with period automobiles, heavy military equipment and army harnesses from the WW II era. Visitors to the Rokycany observatory can enjoy a unique view.

Okresni mesto v severovýchodní casti Plzenského kraje. V roce 2010 Rokycany osluavily 900. výrocí první písemne zmínka o meste.
V soucasnosti zde asi 14 tis. obyvatel. Mesto je zajimavym turistickym cilem - v centru se nachází Muzeum Dr. B. Horáka se svou expozici regionální historie a paleontologie. Nedaleko muzete najit Vojenské muzeum na demarkacní linii s dobovými automobily, težkou vojenskou technikou. Za navstevu stoji i mistni hvezdarna
