This display commemorates the crews of those type of guns in the defense of the port of Antwerp in the period Oct 1944 and Apr 1945.
It was thus used against German V1 Flying Bombers, aimed at the port, in an attempt to turn the tide of the war and keep the Allies from using the port.
These 90mm guns were used during WWII and even after till the introduction of missile systems, in the 50ies.
The memorial was inaugurated in May 2008 and it carries the serial number 6161, built by Otis Elevator Co. Yonkers NY in 1942.
