Ein kühner Steig, drei außergewöhnliche Hütten und Einkehrgelegenheiten, dazu die Fahrt mit dem Alpine Coaster als optionale Draufgabe – das sind die Eckpfeiler der Drei-Hütten-Wanderung in Hochimst, für die es dank Seilbahnunterstützung praktisch keine Höhenmeter im Aufstieg zu überwinden gilt.
Von Hochimst fährt man in zwei Sektionen mit dem Sessellift zum Alpjoch in rund 2100 Meter Höhe. Hier beginnt die Wanderung zurück hinab nach Hochimst. Zunächst wandern wir entlang des ausgesetzten, aber bestens versicherten Drischlsteigs insgesamt sanft absteigend hinunter zur Muttekopfhütte. Von der Muttekopfhütte auf dem Steig Richtung „Latschenhütte“ und den felsdurchsetzten Wiesenhang vor der Hütte hinab. Man überquert gleich einen Bach und erreicht bald eine Routengabelung – hier nicht auf dem bezeichneten „Plattigsteig“ weiter, sondern rechts hinunter dem markierten, aber unbezeichneten Steig folgen. Wenig später wird ein weiterer Bach überquert, die Strecke leitet schließlich zur Talstation der Materialseilbahn. Nun geht es auf dem Fahrweg orografisch links des Bachs sanft im Boden des vom Imster Hausberg Muttkopf abgeschlossenen Tals auswärts zur originellen Latschenhütte. Dort bei der Terrasse an „Jägersteig“ halten, den Bach überqueren und im lichten Wald gemütlich absteigend auswärts (Art Steiganlage), bis der Steig im Bereich einer Brücke in einen breiten Fußweg mündet; an der Stelle in gleich bleibender Richtung weiter zur Skipiste. Wir wandern dann den Fahrweg entlang auf der Piste abwärts zur Untermarkter Alm bei der Liftstation, wo sich auch der Startpunkt des Alpine Coasters befindet. Von hier erfolgt über die Forststraße der sanfte Schlussabstieg nach Hochimst (immer an den Lichtmasten orientieren).
Wer alternativ von der Untermarkter Alm rasant nach Hochimst möchte, der steigt in einen Schlitten des Alpine Coasters ein.
Zwischen Muttekopfhütte und Hochimst ist die Strecke ident mit einer Etappe des Adlerwegs.

An exciting path, three exceptional lodges and retreat opportunities to ride with the Alpine Coaster as optional encore - these are the cornerstones of the three-hut hike in Hochimst which are subject to it thanks to cable car support virtually overcome any meters altitude.
From Hochimst you drive into two sections with the chair lift to Alpjoch in around 2100 meters altitude. Here the trail starts to descend back Hochimst. A little later, another creek crossing, the route leads finally to the base station of the ropeway. Now it's on the orographic left side of the track Bach's gently in the bottom of the mountain Imster Muttkopf secluded valley away from the original Latschenhütte. Keep it there at the terrace of "hunting trail," the brook and in the open forest and comfortable descending outwards (type trail system), until the trail ends in a bridge into a broad foot, at the point in the same direction to the ski slope. We then travel along the travel path on the slope down to Untermarkter pasture next to the lift station, where there is also the starting point of the Alpine Coaster. From here, via the forest road, the gentle descent to the end Hochimst (always guided by the light poles).
