The Boegel and Hine Flour Mill was built in 1883 by by Joe Hine and John Boegel. The mill was a steam engine powered mill. The mill was constructed of rough-cut oak framework with horizontal lap siding. The building had outside dimensions 30' X 40' and stood 40' tall. Although it is located near a running creek the mill was never powered by a water wheel. The 42 inch French Burr stones were powered by a steam engine until the 1930s when they were powered by electricity produced by a diesel engine. The mill operated under many names until it became the Wommack Mill in 1923 when Clifford Eldon Wommack, and cousins William and Wilson took over operation of the mill. It operated as the Wommack Mill until 1969 when it closed due to Clifford's death. The mill deteriorated over the years until members of the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society patch holes and did maintenance to prevent further deterioration. In 1984 the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society purchased mill and 2 acres of land surrounding it. Since then they have done restoration work and offer tours of the mill.
