Torres Novas is a Portuguese city belonging to the District of Santarém, the Central sub-region and the Middle Tagus, with about 12,156 inhabitants. The town of Torres Novas covers five parishes (Salvador, Santa Maria, Santiago, San Pedro and more recently limpets). Still belonged to the old province of Ribatejo today but without any meaning of administrative policy.
It is home to a municipality with 270 km ² and 36,968 inhabitants, divided into 17 parishes. The municipality is bordered in the northwest by the municipality of Ourém, east by Tomar, Vila Nova da Barquinha and Entroncamento and the Southeast by Golegã, south by Santarem and west by Alcanena.
