These magnificent Falls are named Iguazú in Spanish (Argentina) and Iguaçu in Portuguese (Brazil).
"The Devil's Gorge, fed by the river Iguazú, is a stunning waterfall 70 meters in height, which serves as a barrier separating two National Parks, one of which is in Argentina and the other in Brazil. Both have been declared World Heritage sites.
This is just one of a collection of breathtaking waterfalls, which cascade the border, forming one of the most amazing natural beauties of the Southern American continent.
In the area surrounding the waterfalls, a virgin rainforest has developed. Several arboreal and bushy species can be found in the area, some of which are in danger of extinction. Animals such as the jaguar, the puma and the tapir, all three protected species, live in the forest along with a variety of vertebrates and invertebrates. The forest also hosts a great number of brightly coloured butterflies who add their beauty to this outstanding environment."
