"Lamont Public Library first began operation in 1955. In 2005 the library celebrated its 50th anniversary. Lamont Public Library works closely with the Lamont High School library.
The management of the public library is the responsibility of the Lamont Public Library Board of Trustees. Representation is from the Town of Lamont, Lamont County, and Lamont High School as well as volunteers from the community for a total of ten trustees.
Lamont Public Library is open 8 hours/week. From September to June, the hours are Tuesday & Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. During July and August, the library is open Tuesday & Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons from 12 Noon-3:00 p.m.
During the summer the Public Library runs a Summer Story time every Wednesday afternoon.
The Lamont Public Library has a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as videos, DVDs, periodicals, books-on-tape, easy readers, Ukrainian and French language books, and reference material."
