The Gettysburg Battlefield is considered by many to be the most haunted battlefield in the United States. Several websites have documented some creepy stuff going on there with pictures, audio and some crazy video.

Three days of the bloodiest fighting of the American Civil War have forever etched these hallowed fields into the memory of a country and a people. But in the hundred-plus years since the last shot was fired and the last man fell, there continue to be reports from the fields of the fallen: reports of spectral armies still marching in step, of ghostly sentinels and horsemen, of mournful women in white, and the ghostly wails of orphans and animals alike. The battlefield is huge. It takes days to fully tour and appreciate the magnitude of the battle. I made my posted coordinates for the center of East Cemetery Hill, the scene of some wicked fighting and the site of huge casualties. I figure there ought to be a lot of unrestful souls parading about down there. For the most part, everything is, or was made, as it was on July 1st to July 3rd, 1863. I have made four trips now to the battlefield (as of Oct. 2011) and have never felt or seen anything out of the ordinary. One of my visits went well into dusk but I felt nothing except peace and calm. There are scores of videos on Youtube where you can see some weird manifestations claimed to be ghosts.
The town of Gettysburg has built a small industry around ghosts arranging for ghost tours of several buildings and home where ghosts are reputed to be haunting. There are also similar tours for the various battlefields where some say if you are quiet and still, you can still see the troops marching today. BOO!
