For starters yes they serve frog legs. Beyond that the place is just kind of hard to describe in a word.

Its a night club, well yes at times that is the main event. In the summer on Friday and Saturday nights it is THE place to be for the younger set. Live bands rock the house down. Hanging out & hookin' up is what it is all about.

Its a family stop, well yes during the day time on a hot summer day the place will be packed to the gill with kids and parents trying to cool off with a coke and some snacks out back along the canal where you will find tables line the waterfront.

Its a place for the older set to have a nice dinner, well yes even on those same summer Friday and Saturday nights it is so. Its a real experience to come early and observe the transformation from seniors dining to hot and happening night club in the course of thirty to forty minutes! All I can say is it happens. The food is generally good and a variety of dinners are offered every night. (I say generally because it does differ from year to year as the cooks are seasonal and change as does the quality of the food from year to year).

Its a pizza joint, well yes they serve pizza too and its a good spot to meet up with friends and have some Zaa! The south end of the dinning room is set up so you can easily put as many tables together as you need to fit your crowd in and set 'em all down at one sitting. You will find parties of 30 or more there on many occasions.

Its a bar, well yes during the day its a place some of the locals meet up to shoot the sh...... breeze, yea that's the ticket. It is a BIG full service bar and always has good bartenders who know how to mix a good drink.

Its a lunch stop, well yes in the non-summer months you will find just a normal crowd of workers of all sorts meeting up here for a quick lunch. They have a good selection of sandwiches to offer the clientele.

Its a chartered (and public) boat tour destination, well yes the Frog has owned and operated a huge two story 110 passenger charter boat for 23 years called the SS Lillypad. Believe it or not they get that big behemoth down that little itsy bitsy canal and dock it there of all places. It is available for charters and parties with food catered by of course, the folks in the Frog's kitchen. In 2010 Elvis crooned a boat full of fans, passengers got an up-close view of the annual Lake Wawasee Fireworks, and families treated dads to the annual Father's Day excursion all aboard the SS Lillypad

Its a church, well yes on Sunday mornings you can catch a free ride aboard the Lillypad as it takes you over to the boat-in church service held on the water in front of the old Oakwood hotel and brings you back at the conclusion of the non-denominational service. (you gota see how they take up the collection, they go by the boats anchored around with a fish net on a pole)

Its an institution, well of course it is. How could it not be with all this happening in one location that dates back to at least the 60's when I was growing up. Back then it was just a single little converted cottage on the canal. Believe it or not somewhere in all that square footage lies the original cottage still to this day (as best I remember it is about where the dance floor or bar/kitchen are in 2011. They are open year round so don't worry about not making it if you're in a boat (but they do have a "first one to make it up the canal in a boat contest" each year - lots of people try breaking up the ice to get their boat up first)

The Frog is a place to go if you visit the lakes area for sure. If you don't people are going to ask you "Did you visit the Frog while you were there?" and what are you going to say...?
