The Board of Directors of the Pottsville Area School District commissioned a local artist, Mr. David Naydok, to paint a mural on the wall along the east side of the high school. The mural shows the Pottsville Area High School and its stadium, the John S. Clarke Elementary Center in the center, and the D.H.H.Lengle Middle School and Academic Center on the right. Also on the right wing of the wall is the inscription, Pottsville Area School District 1853-2003
