The Meridian Doughboy stands in a small triangular plaza formed by 6th St., 7th St., and 23rd Ave. Street parking is available adjacent to the monument.
The Doughboy stands atop a tall fieldstone base that encloses a small room with a plaque that dedicates the monument to WWI veterans. It is enclosed by a grille, not a door as indicated in the Doughboy database.
The Doughboy was dedicated on Veterans Day, 1927. A tall gas torch stands behind the statue; it is lit during celebrations.
The statue appears to be in good condition, probably protected by the tall base and moderate weather.
Where is this statue located?: Public Park
