Long Description:
This is the chief wat for the province of Champasak in southern Laos. The Wat is located in the provincial capital, the city of Pakse, near the city centre, easily reached on foot. The Wat grounds contain the usual range of buildings, plus a Buddhist College: "Champasak Sangha College".
There is little information about the Wat readily available. It is clearly of some age, and also in good condition with brightly painted decoration and pillars. There is a white and gold stupa on the grounds. When I visited (weekday August 2011) College classes were in session. One thing I did notice, of some rarity, there was a plethora of cats living in the Wat, usually it is dogs. Glad to see some Wats are better than others.
