Our family has been to this museum several times, and have still not seen every exhibit on the floor. Allow a full day if you want to view and read all the displays, both visual and interactive, Plenty of things to keep the youngsters occupied in the museum. The Talisman Energy Fossil Gallery is particularly impressive, with several assembled dinosaur fossils placed around the floor, or suspended above the viewer. The mammal gallery showcases mammals - what makes them different, and how they adapted to survive in their own way. Several hundred stuffed birds can be found in the bird gallery, along with several interactive stations to keep you occupied. The Vale Earth Gallery has hundreds of minerals, gemstones and metals on display (behind glass cases, of course). A well-stocked gift shop is located on the ground floor, with the snack bar. A free coat check is available just past the entrance, on the right.
