Pinnacle Mountain Tower - Unicoi, TN - Look-Out Towers on Waymarking.com

The Pinnacle Mountain fire tower was renovated by 2010 with a $100,000 grant to be an observaton platform. The wood tower cab was replaced with metal grating and solid railing.

The 360 degree view is of several mountain ranges, including the Clinch, Green, Roan, Bays, Chimney Top, Buffalo, and Holston. Visit during mid-October for peak fall color of the hardwoods.

Access is by three routes:
1. Drive up gravel forest service road from Dry Creek. (If the gate is open.) Saw a low sedan reach the below parking coords. Can drive all the way to tower if all access gates are open.
2. Ride an ATV/ORV along 13 mile Buffalo Mtn ATV Trail.
3. Hike or mountain bike up 4.7 mile (6% grade) newly constructed Pinnacle Mtn Tower Trail from I-26, Exit 32.
