The Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls started back in 1983, but this facility opened in 2010 near Sanford Children’s hospital. The home-away-from-home has 18 bedrooms where families of children with major medical illnesses or injuries can stay at little or no cost. This home was built by the Home Builders Association of Sioux Empire much of which donated labor and materials. It is one of two Ronald McDonald houses in Sioux Falls; the other is located near Avera McKennan Hospital. The Ronald McDonald Houses are a special blessing to families who need to stay together during this critical time of their lives.
