The flag of Weil am Rhein is a blue and white banner with the coat of arms in the center. It is very common in Germany to use the coat of arms in the flag.
The coat of arms has bunch of blue grapes with a green vine leave in the center and a blue wave at the bottom. The grapes are a symbol for the widespread viticulture in the area and the wave is the Rhine.
Until the 18th century Weil am Rhein had a vineyard billhook in the coat of arms, then this was replaced with the grapes. The current flag was granted by the state Baden-Württenberg in 1962.
The location of the flag is close to the "Dreiländerbrücke", a pedestrians and bikers bridge to the French sister city Huningue.
