The translated section of Ruth 4 is "Now Boaz had gone up to the gate and sat down there. And behold, the redeemer, of whom Boaz had spoken, came by. So Boaz said, “Turn aside, friend; sit down here.” And he turned aside and sat down." from
Ruth 4Gospels were originally written in Hebrew. The gate in to a city was often the place where justice was served. More importantly everyone would pass through eventually. And Boaz waited for his unidentified person. Boaz asks him to sit with him. The other person is not named, possibly because the writer did not know this information. Or he had no issue and does not appear elsewhere. Some gospel writers name him as Tob or Tobias.
