The final resting place of Amy R. Jones is just north of the center of Memorial Park Cemetery. Hers is a single, light colored headstone that had a gorgeous bouquet of pink flowers at the time of my visit.

Some worldwide events and accomplishments that occurred during Amy's lifetime:

1905: Albert Einstein submits his paper Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon Its Energy Content? in which he develops an argument for the famous equation E = mc2.
1915: The Rocky Mountain National Park is established by an act of the U.S. Congress.
1925: Santa Barbara Earthquake of 1925: A 6.3 earthquake destroys downtown Santa Barbara, California.
1935: Iceland becomes the first country to legalize abortion on medical grounds.
1945:WWII: The heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis is hit and sunk by torpedoes from the Japanese submarine I-58 in the Philippine Sea. Some 900 survivors jump into the sea and are adrift for up to four days. Nearly 600 die before help arrives. Captain Charles B. McVay III of the cruiser is later court-martialed and convicted.
1955: First edition of the Guinness Book of Records is published, in London.
1965: President LBJ makes his "We Shall Overcome" speech.
1975: Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom) opens at Walt Disney World and to this day remains at one of the parks most popular attraction.
1985: The 57th Academy Awards are held at in Los Angeles, California with Amadeus winning Best Picture
1995: Steve Fossett lands in Leader, Saskatchewan, Canada, becoming the first person to make a solo flight across the Pacific Ocean in a balloon.
2005: Pope John Paul II dies; over 4 million people travel to the Vatican to mourn him
2006: North Korea claims to have conducted its first-ever nuclear test
