The South Platte River hosts miles of recreation paths ('Bike Paths') that wind through urban, suburban, then undeveloped areas. While this location is a suburban area, heading either south or north provides a quiet respite from traffic and other distractions.

The above coordinates are for the main sign and the nearby parking lot. Seats of decks have been strategically installed along the path to allow visitors to watch the various birds that visit the area. (I am including coordinates of two viewing areas south of the main coordinates.) During the summer months I have seen many varieties of ducks, land gulls, blue heron, cormorants, red-winged blackbirds, ravens, sparrows, nuthatch, Rocky Mountain Canary, starlings, a rare hummingbird, steller's jay, and others I probably don't remember. I do notice that many populations are down from West Nile virus.

There is a seating area at N39° 51.127, W104° 56.334 and a deck with more information posters at N39° 50.776, W104° 56.387 (just follow the path south). I did not feel these other sites were worthy of a separate Waymark since they are part of the same trail and area. Photos were taken in October 2011.
