The Hart is the symbol of Hertfordshire and appears on the county's coat of arms and elsewhere on official buildings. The Swedish word for stag is 'hjort' and the Dutch word 'hert'.
The white hart also appears on the livery of Richard II. This one is reclining and has rather grand antlers.
