Excellent art work painted on the inside of the garage doors so there is lots of reflection but that has little effect on what you get to see as you pass by. There are two different doors involved in this great piece of art. Both doors have several things in common. a green background, nice peaceful clouds, a bar of music from which the music notes seem to be escaping and a banner with the words "Youth Development Center".
The door on the left also has a ballerina in her pink leotards dancing on a couple of nondescript books, the books have no titles but this could be because the panel they are on is in need of replacement after being broken perhaps by brake dancers?
The door on the right has no people but it does contain an easel with a blank canvas perhaps representing the unfinished lives of the youth that the center will serve and their ability to be what ever they want to be.
The design of the door is carried up to the building above where there is another music bar. There are also paintings on the front windows of the building representing Music, Dance and Fine Arts. These images are not part of the door but can be seen in one of the pictures I am posting with this waymark.
The studio is not open yet as you will see but one of my pictures there is a number so you can sign up if you would like. I am hoping that future finders of this waymark will let us know if they have opened yet or not.
There is a great community garden just down the street so you may want to check it and it's mural out while you are in the area (it is a waymark by the way)There is also a small store within walking distance and parking is availible along the street and at the center. Don't forget you are in the big city when doing this waymark so please be courteous to any locals you may meet who do appear to be keeping a good eye on there part of town but seemed nice enough when I spoke to them.
