Portmeirion is the village, now a hotel and tourist attraction built in the 1920's and 1930's by the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. He populated it with buildings and statues, many salvaged from old buildings around the UK that were being torn down.
Where this lion came from I don't know but it's now curiously located outside the public toilets.
It routinely gets decorated by passing visitors which just adds to the smirk on its bloody face as it holds a human hand between its paws.
