Long Description:
Borovany is a small town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, near Ceské Budejovice.
In the park on the town square is sticking out a granite pillory produced in 1656, renovated in 1739 . Offenders were chained to him, to be issued to public disgrace. Supposedly there was a large iron cage where appropriate fractious neighbors were locked up until they have reconciled.
By the end of the 19th Century here always hung a wooden hand with a saber eight days before the start of the stocks market as a symbol of market rights of the city.
