This memorial is dedicated to the Gurkha Soldier for both the First and Second World Wars. The monument also list the various campaigns the Gurkha's have taken part in.

This memorial recalls the deployment of Gurkha soldiers by the British. The memorial was unveiled on December 3, 1997 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

It bears the inscription:
"The Gurkha Soldier. Bravest of the brave, most generous of the generous, never had country more faithful friends than you."

The bronze statue is about lifesize and shows a Gurkha in a uniform probably worn during the Great War.
