Folklore has it that the spring was a gathering place for our native Indians. Once the settlers arrived it became a source of drinking water. A family by the name of Cameron owned and operated a stage coach business nearby. As a stopping off place for travelers and to water the horses it became known as the Cameronian Spring. Today the spring provides drinking water for the many tourists who visit our village, as well as the Village residents who prefer the spring water.
The park was developed by the Westport & Area Seniors.
