The Ludlow Fire department is located at the intersection of Chapin Street and Center Street (Route 21). On the northeast corner of this intersection there is a 9/11 memorial. It consists of a twisted beam from the World Trade Center mounted on stone blocks. A plaque beneath the beam explains its significance. The memorial is surrounded by a regular pentagon. It was dedicated on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
A plaque beneath the monument explains its significance. The plaque has images of an American flag, rural field, the Statue of Liberty, the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and an eagle flying with a banner in its beak that reads September 11, 2001.
