You do not need to wait for New Year's Eve to see the Hotel Northampton earth globe. It's visible all year long on the southeast corner of the hotel's roof at 36 King Street in downtown Northampton.
Every year the City of Northampton holds a First Night Festival of the Arts on December 31st to celebrate the upcoming new year. This signature event is sponsored by Center for the Arts and Peoples Bank. It features a wide array of entertainment presented by local talented performers. Fireworks begin after sundown, at about 6 pm and at midnight the earth globe RISES from the top of the Hotel Northampton.
The earth globe accurately depict the earth's landmasses and oceans. It's fabricated of steel and stainless steel and lit by LED lights.
