A sign showing the local cycle route of the area along the river Aeron, the route is one that starts at this point and heads east out of Aberaeron along a number of roads and trails along to the village of Llanerchaeron.
The words 'Aberaeron' means 'mouth of the river Aeron' and Llanerchaeron means something along the lines of "Church on the river Aeron", but my Welsh language isn't perfect, so I can't be sure. The great thing about Welsh places names is that they are mainly descriptive.
