Around the Corner is one of those breakfast/lunch places where everyone gathers. I'm sure the waitstaff sees the same faces day after day, year after year.
The owner, Charlotte Worsham, has been at this location since 1988, and previous to that, across the street since 1983. The restaurant began in the early 1960s with another owner and location. Their motto is "We Cook With Love", and I believe it.
They are open Tuesday - Sunday from 6AM to 2PM and closed on Mondays. There is definitely a country ambiance, and if there is a theme, it's Roosters. Over the years, items have been added to the walls, as gifts from friends and customers, or by the owner.
The food is great - your standard breakfast fare of bacon and eggs done any way you like; lunch of hamburgers, sandwiches, or a full country meal. There is also a children's menu. The photo gallery posted shows the details of the menu.
The restaurant is located at 11 S. Broadway in downtown Edmond. The building was constructed in 1917. In front of the building is one of Edmond's many outdoor sculptures, this one showing a pig with a chicken on its back, and appropriately named "Ham and Eggs."
