I found the design of this bridge interesting:

The span is nearly evenly distributed between land and water. The raised roadbed approaching from the south abruptly comes to an end at a sturdy retaining wall built of squared timbers about 25 feet from the creek. I suspect this was done to accommodate the farmer across whose land the line was being built, providing an opening through which cows could move from one side of the line to the other.

Visible in the creek are two lines of old pilings similar to those still supporting the bridge near the middle, suggesting this bridge replaced a considerably earlier one.
