Wintler Community Park is located at 6400 Beach Dr. in Vancouver. This park was the property of the Wintler family. Two brothers, Michael and John Jacob Wintler, were born in Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in the 1850s. Michael came to Clark County first and opened a general store in Parker's Landing. Then he bought a farm and operated it for several years. John Jacob came to Clark County to visit his brother, Micheal. He worked on steam boats on the rivers and then bought a farm near Prune Hill, becoming a permanent resident of Clark County. Ten years later he sold the farm and moved into Vancouver where he owned a harness and saddlery shop. Situated on the bank of the Columbia River, this 12.5-acre park includes picnic tables, observation decks, a sandy beach area, and a restroom.
