Horse Mania is an event centred around Lexington, Kentucky, USA. Newmarket, being a sister town by virtue of a common interest in the horse racing industry.
In 2011 a Newmarket artist Paula Wilson, was chosen to decorate a horse to be sent to Lexington. This effort is not one of hers.
Horse Mania seems to have been an extension of other fibreglass animal themed events such as Cow Parade and Bath's 'King Bladud's Pigs'.
This horse's hat does not seem to be an original feature.
It was paintedd by Terry Cox.
