The funicular from Iterlaken to Heimwehfluh hill opened in July 1906. It was electrified from beginning and still today most of the engines and wagons are the old original ones.
The funicular goes from the southwest of Interlaken up to a hill called Heimwehfluh. The location is well known for the great view over the Bernese Alps and it is a popular tourist destination. On top there are a restaurant, a large playground and many attractions as coasting slides and miniature railroads.
It is open from April to October.
A return ticket is CHF 14 for adults and CHF 7 for children from 6-16. A fullday ticket including all additional attractions is 23 / 14 CHF.
