The OH-58 Kiowa, built by Bell Helicopter Textron for the U.S.Army, was the forerunner to the OH58A. Seventy-four OH-58A Kiowa were built for the Canadian Armed Forced and designated as COH-58A. They were re-designated as CH-136 Kiowa and they were used from 1971 to 1995. This one, 136248, was assigned to No. 430 Squadron, Valcartier, Quebec which supported 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group.
This CH-136 Kiowa was dedicated here on 29 April 1993.
