The botanical garden was founded by the school vice-principal Vaclav Pelikan in 1963.
The area is 1.43ha, there are several hundreds of kinds of plants growing in the garden beds. In the forest part of the garden there are both domestic and foreign plants.
There is a large collection of Araceae in outside beds and indoors in glasshouses, a collection of Paeonia and a butterfly garden.
The garden is open to public at no fee May to November on workdays only, 8-13, and on weekends on special occasions or if arranged in advance with the school management.
